However, the complexity comes with a steep learning curve. Amy O. says that “running reports on Donor Perfect is an acquired skill. Many times, I have repeated the same steps for practice, but not produced the same results. I don’t find the system particularly user friendly.” DonorPerfect’s extensive features require significant training and ongoing practice to master, making it less ideal for small teams without dedicated database staff.

The fundraising side is where DonorPerfect struggles most. Amy S. points out: “Some modules are a little weaker than others. Givebutter is trying to be everything to everybody, building features for every segment of the nonprofit market.

Givebutter strengths:

  • Extensive feature set – Donation pages, peer-to-peer, events, text-to-give, donor CRM, email marketing automation, and more
  • Modern interface – Clean, modern, user-friendly design
  • “Free” option – Like Zeffy, funded by optional donor tips (though they also have a paid tier for CRM features called Givebutter Plus)

Limitations:
