There are times when quick fundraising is necessary—whether it’s a memorial campaign for the sudden loss of a supporter or a time-sensitive fundraiser that comes up spur of the moment. One of the features of 4aGoodCause is the ability to build unlimited campaigns and to do so quickly.
Here are two examples of campaigns that launched quick online donation pages on the fly:
Dan Miller Rides
As a fundraiser for Rainbow Village, Dan Miller set out on August 1 on a 4,000-mile bike journey that will take him approximately two months to complete. Dan is doing so in celebration of Rainbow Village’s 30th anniversary and has already surpassed his $30,000 fundraising goal.
Rainbow Village was able to set up an individual fundraising page for Dan as a way to easily collect donations online that will go straight back to the nonprofit. His Cycle to Break the Cycle of Homelessness Campaign provides an overview of his ‘why’ – why he set out on this mission and what the money supports. The individual fundraising page is linked via the ‘donate’ button on the Dan Miller Rides website as well as promoted on Rainbow Village’s social media posts (see the September 30 Facebook post, for an example) throughout his journey.
Because Rainbow Village was already using 4aGoodCause as its online fundraising platform, they were able to add the additional page at no additional cost and were able to push the fundraiser live in a short period of time.
Project Cure
Project Cure is an example of an organization raising money as a response to a disaster. After the August 14 Haitian earthquake, the nonprofit created a campaign specific to raising money to fund supplies for Haiti. This campaign was an easy addition to what they have standardized on their website and they are able to provide specific updates to the campaign’s progress on its Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Like the Dan Miller Rides campaign, because Project Cure uses 4aGoodCause as its fundraising platform, it can create new or timely donation pages and campaigns on the fly based on current templates they’re already using.
Many 4aGoodCause clients can quickly build memorial campaigns when sudden losses occur, when natural disasters happen or when a member of the leadership team has a great idea for a quick-hit campaign.
5 ways to get your fundraising campaign set up quickly
- Craft your story with short answers to the following: who are you raising money for, how much is the goal amount, what will the funds will be used for, how does it positively impact the recipient(s).
- Use an online donation page template that you already have established either from other one-off campaigns or your year-round donation landing page. Swap out the story at the top, the giving levels and required form information.
- Create a distribution strategy that will help you get the word out fast. Use all your digital channels—email, social media—and pre-schedule or create content ahead of time that leads to the new campaign.
- Use the home page of your website to draw attention to the campaign. Use a banner, content block or button to quickly direct visitors to the campaign donation page.
- Ask others to spread the word by sharing the link to your board members, volunteers, staff and key donors in addition to the digital channels you’ve identified as part of your distribution strategy above.
