New features and enhancements
New support widget
We’ve added a support widget in the nonprofit admin interface. This is a quick way to access knowledge base articles, step-by-step guides, and videos. You can also send us a message or email directly through this widget. Our goal is to make it as easy as possible for you to get help when you need it.
Enhanced alerts and emails
To help you retain more monthly donors, we’ve rolled out several new alerts and emails. Here’s a quick overview:
- Failed payment alerts: Donors and nonprofits are automatically notified when a recurring payment fails. Donors can update their payment method quickly and easily in their donor account.
- Update confirmations: Donors receive a confirmation email when they update their payment details or other aspect of their recurring donation. Nonprofits get an alert letting them know what udpates have been made by the donor.
- Cancellation alerts: Both you and the donor will get notifications if a recurring donation is canceled.
These alerts help you take immediate action to retain donors.
Backend upgrades
Our team has also been working tirelessly on various backend updates to ensure the platform runs smoothly:
- Improved logging: Enhanced logs for communication between our system and payment gateways.
- Better error reporting: Upgraded tools for real-time error tracking and triaging.
- Resource increase: Upgraded server resources such as memory and bandwidth to ensure faster and more reliable performance.
Google Pay and Apple Pay Integration
One of the most exciting updates is the addition of Google Pay and Apple Pay. These digital wallets make online transactions quicker and more secure by utilizing tokenized payment methods. See our guides below on how to add these payment options to your donation page.
What are mobile wallets and why nonprofits should accept them
Google Pay and Apple Pay are digital wallets that allow people to make payments through their mobile devices or online.
A digital wallet is an app that allows users to store and use payment information from their financial accounts on a smartphone, computer, or smart device. Digital wallets can replace the need to carry physical cards, keys, and passes.
For nonprofits, accepting Google Pay and Appe Pay can streamline donations, making it easier for supporters to contribute on the go.
How mobile wallets transaction work
When a donor gives online, Google Pay and Apple Pay tokenize the donor’s credit card information. This token is then used for the transaction, eliminating the need for the customer to enter their credit card information. The mobile wallets pass the tokenized card information via 4aGoodCause to your payment gateway.
Cost of using Google Pay and Apple Pay
4aGoodCause does not charge any additional fees for using Google Pay or Apple Pay. There are no additional processing fees from Google or Apple. A mobile wallet transaction is treated like any other credit card transaction. You’ll pay your normal credit card processing fees.
